GCSE Results Day 2022

Principal of East London Science School, Mark Taylor, recognises the hard work of the Year 11 students in the school’s first set of GCSE examination results after the disruptions of the Covid pandemic. “I wish the Year 11s all the best in their next steps after fighting so hard to get their exams completed in uniquely difficult circumstances,” said Mr Taylor.

There are some standout results. Harnam was awarded seven grade 9s which includes a clean sweep in Maths and all three sciences, Electronics and Computer Science. Variaam was also awarded seven grade 9s which includes English Language, English Literature and Latin. (continues below)

Omar Mudhir: Grades: Two 9’s, three 8’s, four 7’s, one 6 and one 5
Farah Noureddin: Grades: Two 9’s, three 7’s and one 6
Variaam Tratt (with Mr Anderson and Miss Bassett). Grades: Seven 9’s and two 8’s
Harnam Saggu (with Ms Ubaka). Grades: Seven 9’s, two 8’s and one 7
Yejesh Carun (with mum) Grades: Seven 8’s, two 7’s and one 6
Ayana Millington-Baltzer (with Ms Ubaka). Grades: Two 9’s, five 8’s, two 7’s and one 6
Massi Faizi: Grades: Two 9’s, two 8’s and five 6’s

Massi achieved two grade 9s in English Language and Literature, and was also awarded two grade 8s and very good grades in many other subjects. Ayana achieved a grade 9 in Geography and Chemistry with five grade 8s in other subjects. Yejesh achieved a grade 9 in Fine Art with seven grade 8s.

Ms Ubaka, Head of Year 11, has been celebrating with the students today. “I am very proud of the achievements of the Year 11s. After a two-year period of considerable obstacles to learning, this year group have faced the challenges head on. They are the ‘overcomers”. Congratulations to them.”
